Fall 2024 Enrichment Classes
Registration has Closed

  • Please register on the PTO website beginning September 16th at 9:00pm.

  • Please be aware that some courses have historically filled within minutes of registration opening.

  • You must be a paid PTO member to register your child for an enrichment class.

  • If a course is filled that your child is interested in, please email the PTO to be added to the waitlist.

  • All classes are $50 plus an additional fee for supplies for some classes which are paid during registration.

  • Classes will be offered 1 day a week for six weeks.

  • CLASSES RUN FROM 3:00-4:00pm.

Fall Enrichment Class Offerings

Cook with a Book with Mrs. Phillips (Tuesdays)
 

Grades: K, 1st & 2nd
Tuesdays - September 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Cost: $65

 

Students will enjoy a hands-on cooking experience that is theme based on a story. Students will mix, measure, and pour to gain self-confidence as they successfully follow a recipe to create delicious snacks and desserts.

Grades: K, 1st & 2nd
Thursdays - September 26; October 3, 10, 17, 24 ; November 7
Cost: $65

Cartooning with Mr. Petosa

Grades: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th
Thursdays - September 26; October 3, 10, 17, 24 ; November 7
Cost: $50

 

Students will learn about the techniques of illustrating and cartooning. Students will use these techniques to create their own illustrations and drawings.

Fall Eco Class with Mr. Yee

Grades: 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th
Tuesdays - September 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Cost: $50

 

Students will learn about ecosystem biodiversity, native plants, and pollinators by tending to our school’s National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Certified Habitat - a native wildflower garden that was established by Mr. Yee’s Eco Class in the spring of 2022. Students will plant seeds and observe their growth throughout the 6-week course. We will also prepare a tower garden to grow indoor wildflowers. Finally, mums will be planted in the courtyard for the fall season.

Board Games Galore! with Ms. Thompson

Grades: 2nd & 3rd
Tuesdays - September 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Do you like to play games? If so, Board games galore is the class for you! Relax
and unwind playing games and activities that you enjoy! Play Jenga, Checkers, Sorry, Trouble, Cards, Legos, Kinex, coloring and more!! This class is a no computer zone.

Ahoy Matey! with Mrs. Phillips

Grades: Kindergarten & 1st
Wednesday - September 25; October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Get ready for a pirate adventure! Join us for some swashbuckling fun as we explore all things pirates. Listen to a pirate story, enjoy a pirate snack and make a pirate craft. We will culminate our pirate fun in our last class by going on a treasure hunt!

MBS (Mind,Body, Soul) with Mrs. Eberling

Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th
Wednesday - September 25; October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

M.B.S (mind, body & soul) During this enrichment course we will be exploring ways to nurture our mind, body, and souls! We will engage in activities such as puzzles, a stem challenge, escape room and journaling to foster our minds. We will discuss the importance of taking care of our bodies through movement (games, walking, yoga) and nutrition (finishing the course with a healthy snack) and finally our souls! We will incorporate self-care plans, gratitude games, and spread kindness with some random acts challenges! The course will be using an individualized approach at times as your child hones in on what works best for them and their lives to achieve the care they deserve to give themselves on a daily basis. We will also incorporate some group challenges and fun along the way!

Scrapbooking with Ms. Alfano

Grades: 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th
Wednesday - September 25; October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Scrapbooking Club is about crafting and documenting memories. It involves taking books with blank pages and adding photos, memorabilia, journaling, and embellishments. Each week students will learn a new design concept, discuss themes, and different journaling techniques. It is a great hands-on activity where we get to work together and get to know one another through sharing, creating, and documenting fun memories! Students will have to bring their own photos (pictures of their family, friends, pets, etc.) and a scrapbook of their choosing!

Fairy Tale STEM with Mrs. Prendergast

Grades: 1st & 2nd
Wednesday - September 25; October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Cost: $55

 

Can you build a strong house that the Big Bad Wolf can't blow down? Can you build a bridge for the gingerbread man to cross the river? We will begin each class with a Read Aloud of a favorite Fairy Tale. Then, students will work together to help each character solve a problem by completing a STEM challenge! Students will collaborate with classmates, use problem solving and critical thinking skills, and build their imagination, all while having fun with their friends! The Fairy Tales we will read aloud include: The Three Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Man, Hanseland Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, Billy Goats Gruff, and Rapunzel.

Nursery Rhyme STEM with Mrs. Prendergast

Grades: Kindergarten & 1st

Can you help Jack and Jill get water down the hill? Can you make a rocket fly over the moon for Hey Diddle Diddle? Each week, we will begin our class with a Read Aloud of a favorite Nursery Rhyme. Then, students will work together to help the characters solve a problem by completing a STEM challenge! Students will collaborate with classmates, use problem solving and critical thinking skills, and build their imagination, all while having fun with their friends! The Nursery Rhymes we will complete STEM challenges for are: Little Bo Peep, Jack and Jill, Little Miss Muffet, Hickory Dickory Dock, Hey Diddle Diddle, and Jack Be Nimble.
